VNA Legislative Summit 2018
Call for Poster Presenter Abstracts
Calling all RNs and student nurses to share your public policy and advocacy work via poster presentation:
The 2018 VNA Legislative Summit will be held November 8, 2018 at the John Marshall Ballrooms in Richmond, Virginia, and will focus on nursing advocacy that advances the profession and the health of all Virginians. Our desired learning outcome
is for participants to increase their knowledge of legislative issues that impact the nursing profession and the health of our communities, and to leave with strategies to serve as advocates at the local, state, and national level. We are seeking poster presenters that will share creative policy (legislative and/or regulatory) solutions to challenges you perceive in these areas. Tell us about the healthcare challenge, evidence which supports the need for a policy solution, the policy solution that has or has the potential to resolve the challenge, and a plan for evaluating the outcomes. Abstracts will be accepted for actual or potential policy solutions.
Dates for Submission
The deadline to submit Poster Abstracts is September 30, 2018. You may submit your abstract electronically here
Our abstract submission forms are built on JotForm. If you have difficulty accessing the form at your workplace, please try your mobile device or home computer.
The Poster Review Committee will review all submissions, and notify selected poster presenters by October 11, 2018.
Submissions will be evaluated based on:
Presentation: grammar, spelling, clarity
Content: substantive, current, of interest to potential attendees, and provides evidence to support the need for a policy solution
Relevance: provides a policy solution to a current nursing profession or healthcare challenge
Outcomes: demonstrates actual outcomes or a plan for evaluating potential outcomes
Who May Submit
Anyone who has a policy solution to a nursing profession or healthcare challenge.
Presentation guidelines for poster presentation will be provided to authors of accepted abstracts at the time of acceptance. Posters are limited to a maximum size of 4x4 feet.
Presenters will be required to submit all necessary forms by the deadlines provided in the acceptance letter. Acceptance as a presenter will be contingent upon a conflict of interest assessment and VNA reserves the right to rescind the acceptance of an abstract due to any conflict of interest discovered after acceptance.
