DISTRICT ACTIVITIES
District IV conducts four meetings per year that include an educational program and a general business session. The educational presentations are one hour in length and address both clinical and professional topics. The business session follows the program and is designed to communicate district activities and information relevant to nurses regarding practice issues, legislation, and workplace advocacy. The meetings are held on the third Thursday of the months of September, November, February and April. Dinner is available (at cost) at the September and April meetings. Meetings are open to all members, guests, and nursing students. The February meeting is dedicated to graduating nursing students and focuses on preparation for the transition from student to professional nurse. This event is usually attended by representatives of various health care agencies, military organizations and other potential employees.
