Advocacy for Nurses in the Workplace

Virginia Nurses Association

The Virginia Nurses Association is committed to promoting education, advocacy, and mentoring for registered nurses across the state of Virginia. The Workplace Advocacy Program of the Virginia Nurses Association serves to:

  • Lend support to nurses in Virginia in their efforts to deliver quality care in a positive and safe work environment
  • Provide information and strategies for nurses in Virginia to utilize in addressing workplace issues and concerns

Established in 2003, the Center for American Nurses offers tools, services and strategies designed to make nurses their own best advocates in their practice environments. Through research, continuing education and knowledge sharing among today’s nursing community, the Center offers powerful resources to nurses seeking to overcome workforce challenges and realize opportunities.

The Center for the American Nurse  posted a position statement
"Lateral/Horizontal Violence and Bullying in the Workplace"
for public comment.  An updated statement should be forthcoming.
