For me the most important benefit of being a VNA member is the networking. I love connecting with new colleagues as well as reminiscing with old ones when I attend VNA conferences. But I also appreciate having the opportunity to serve VNA. I started out as a committee member on the Commission for Nursing Education and then ran for the Commissioner position during the next election cycle. In this position, I have gotten to work with an amazing planning team to bring wonderful educational activities in the commonwealth. My advice for you: put yourself out there and volunteer for a VNA position. You won’t regret it.

I am a new board member with the Virginia Nurses Association. My favorite thing about being in VNA is the opportunity to stay up to date with changes that are occurring in the art of nursing, and being able to meet and connect with fellow nurses who have wisdom and knowledge from years of practice.
